In this video, Handyguys Brian and Paul briefly discuss some helpful tips when replacing your smoke detector. At the beginning of the video, Handyguy Paul shows Handyguys Brian his 3 new detectors. Homeowners should be aware that detectors undergo wear and tear just like any other device. Homeowners should replace their detector every 10 years or as soon as it exhibits malfunction.
Replacing A Smoke Detector
Make sure to get a new smoke detector that has easy access to the battery whenever you are replacing your previous one. Homeowners changing a battery on a detector can find it tedious. This simple tip can save you time and energy during detector maintenance. The detector linked in this post is Handyguy approved and tested!
The last Handyguys Tip involves the installation of your smoke detector. Detectors can be tricky and may require professional help. Do not be hesitant to call a professional in order to ensure that the smoke detector is installed correctly.
80 days. Indeterminate. A heirloom variety from Russia. These compact plants bear plenty of wonderfully rich, mahogany-brown tomatoes that average about 4 ounces.
Grows in full sun and are cool-tolerant. The is a great greenhouse variety.
Noise level is an important characteristic of a generator, we all want a quiet generator. As requested in the comments on other videos we provide a quick test to demonstrate how these two quiet generators stack up. We know that this is not under load but we found that they are similar enough to each other to make the point.
The Honda EU2000I is one of the quietest generators on the market. You can see from our tests it does very well and is a very quiet generator. The biggest complaint some people have about the Honda is its price. Many say its worth it, Handyguy Paul agrees. You can get it the Honda through Amazon.
The Generac IQ2000 was just as quiet as the Honda. We could not discern any difference in our testing. Watch the video and decide for yourself. The Generac is a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the Honda, has a nicer fuel gauge and is equally quiet. We do a more in depth comparison in a different video. You can also get the Generac through Amazon.
Conclusions
Both the Honda EU2000i and the Generac IQ2000 are very quiet generators. You could easily use them for tailgating, camping, picnics, etc. They wont be bothersome from a noise perspective and are both quality machines.
Unless you change a setting, Google stores anything you say to Google Assistant on its servers. The company employs contractors to listen to those recordings to improve Google Assistant’s performance. A contractor leaked over 1000 recordings, some of personal nature.
Google Assistant on a device isn’t intelligent. If you have a Google Home, all it can do on its own is listen for the wake word. Once you say the wake word, Google Home sends everything else that follows to cloud servers for interpretation. Those cloud servers provide the real intelligence to Google Home.
What happens next depends on your settings. If you’re a new Google Assistant user, by default Google discards your recordings once it interprets your command and sends a response back. But Google only recently made that behavior the default, and it didn’t retroactively apply the new choice to existing users.
So if you’re a long time Google Assistant user, and you haven’t changed your preference, Google stores your voice on its servers. The company uses these recordings to improve the Google Assistant service, in part by having humans listen to them. The idea is, a human can listen to the command sent and examine the response given, find any errors, and flag them for correction.
A contractor employed for just this purpose recently leaked over 1000 recordings that came from Google Assistant. Some of these recordings revealed that Google Assistant did occasionally record when no one spoke the wake word. Typically this is an instance of false positive, a person’s Google Home thought it detected the wake word and started recording, but it was wrong.
Some of the recordings leaked contained personal details, such as medical details, and the contractor claimed that in some cases they could potentially link the voice to an actual user.
But the most disturbing part is that a contractor could leak these voice transcripts in the first place. It’s not clear how they managed to copy the data, and Google says it’s now investigating and plans to find the leaker. Hopefully, along the way, they add more security precautions that prevent removing data from its servers [TechCrunch]
My friend is on her trip to US and I was browsing through Sephora to order a few things which my friend would bring back from her trip. That was when I came across the sephora hair sleeping mask range. Anything which promises to condition my hair, grow my hair or make it beautiful is always on top of my list.
In US, it is available at 5$ a piece but before ordering it in bulk, I thought I would give it a try. That was when I made the trip to Sephora Hyderabad for the first time. I picked up the sephora hair sleeping mask and their hand mask gloves. That was around 15 days back. And, now, I am back with a review for it. Was it worth it?
Sephora Hair Sleeping Mask – Rose
Price : Rs 450 per piece
Availability : Sephora Online or Stores
My Review
I got the rose variant but I think I should have tried the coconut. It is far more moisturizing though I though rose would be a treat to the senses. I am happy to say the fragrance does not even bother or linger beyond a few seconds. Sephora hair sleeping mask is not a product which will make your headache right when you open the packet.
The sephora hair sleeping mask comes in a single pouch divided into conditioner and hair cap. Well, I love the hair cap. It is cute, made of cloth so very soft and washable and very light weight. You do not feel that you have put on anything on your head while sleeping which is extremely important for a good sleep.
Coming to the conditioner, the quantity is very less. No, for me, it lasted two uses but my hair length and volume are extremely low. If you have a good volume of mid waist length, sephora hair sleeping mask would probably cover the lower half of your hair. So, yes, for the price, the quantity is extremely insufficient. You might as well buy a hair mask and a cloth hair cap separately.
Anyways, getting back to the review, after combing my hair, I smoothened the conditioner on the lengths of my hair and I applied scalp treatment by Kaya. After securing the hair on top of my head so it does not get in the way of sleep, I put on the hair cap. As I mentioned earlier, it is extremely light weight and you would not feel it is there.
The problem with the hair cap is that it is small in size. For those with a good volume, the cap would cover only the bun of your hair and not the entire scalp defeating the purpose of letting the body heat allow for deeper hair conditioning overnight. It also does not stay at one place so I used a scarf to make sure no conditioner gets on my pillow.
Another disadvantage with the hair cap is the elastic, even though it is very soft, will dig into your hair line or forehead eventually by next morning which makes it inconvenient to use. The good thing about sephora hair sleeping mask is that its conditioner dries off in about 30 minutes so it does not really stick to the skin or clothes. But, I would definitely suggest a scarf over it.
My hair is glossy and extremely soft to touch. Though it has turned greasy now after two days, the softness is just the same. The frizz was definitely less and volume at the crown was awesome! That lasted a day.
The next morning, you can shampoo and condition your hair as you do. My hair was bouncy and voluminous with defined curls. The ends were not looking that nourished but then I need a hair cut badly. My hair was shiny and glossy. The results were consistent for both uses and lasted for two days before they got greasy.
Now, please note that my hair is very fine even though it is dry so any deep conditioning would weigh it down eventually. And, it is very hot here so the scalp also gets greasy sooner. But, with regular use of the hair sleeping mask, I think hair would get more manageable and shinier in the long run. It is almost like getting a hair spa.
So, was the sephora hair sleeping mask worth it? Well, the idea is to allow those people who do not have much time to keep the conditioner on their hair for as long as possible. But, did you know that any product stops working on your hair after 2-3 hours? Same goes for this product as well.
Hair Sleeping Mask DIY
In fact, this is a good idea to nourish your hair once a week. Apply any of your favorite hair mask, not conditioner, on slightly damp hair or dry hair and let it dry for 30 minutes. Cover with the hair cap or a scarf whichever you prefer and go to sleep. Wash and style as usual the next day. It saves time, gets your hair spa-ready and the results are mind blowing.
Have you used any hair sleeping mask?
Have you heard about skin sleeping masks? My favorite is Laniege. Similar to the idea, I think hair sleeping masks are a great way to give yourself a hair spa and nourish your hair. The trick is to find the right hair mask. What do you think?
In this video, Handyguys Brian and Paul talk about the benefits of using the Onkyo Receiver. They use the Google Home app and a Google Home device to stream music to an Onkyo TX-8270 Stereo Receiver. The Onkyo Receiver is just one other way that you can incorporate smart home features into your home sound system.
How It Works
The receiver has Chromecast built into it as well as the technology to stream music right to the box from a Google Home technology. However, Handyguy Paul explains the you do not need a Google Home device to stream to the Onkyo receiver. Rather, you are able to control the receiver from the Google Home application on your phone.
Setting It Up
You are able to name the receiver whatever suite your needs from the app on your smart home device (bedroom receiver, living room receiver, basement receiver etc.). For the purposes of this video, Handyguys Brian and Paul name the receiver “Onkyo Receiver” on their device.
Using Your Onkyo Receiver
Just as you would a Google Home, you instruct your smart phone application to cast music onto the Onkyo Receiver. The receiver will then know how to switch to its net input, which can be a streaming option such as Pandora or Chromecast. In this video, Onkyo stutters a little in the beginning when casted to, but then smoothly casts your choice onto speakers or your TV.
You are able to control the music choice and loudness from the application on your smart phone. You are also able to do all control the Onkyo and casting capabilities with an official Google Home Device.
The Onkyo Receiver with built in Chromecast is just one way to add in smart capabilities to your house. Stay tuned for more tips on how to add in smart capabilities to your home from Handyguys Brian and Paul.

Bookmarks in Google Chrome save a link to a website you want to return to later, much like when you put a bookmark in a book. Here are several ways you can create, view, and edit your Bookmarks.
How to Create a Bookmark
Fire up Chrome, head to a website, and then click the star icon in the Omnibox. Here, you can change the name of the Bookmark and designate a specific folder, but we’ll leave that alone for now. Click “Done.”
Repeat this step for all your favorite sites.
When you save a page as a Bookmark, Google Chrome not only remembers that page for you, but it also uses it when you start to type something into the Omnibox. For example, type the first few letters in the title of a saved page into the address bar—like, “How” for How-to Geek’s website. Notice how Chrome suggests the page that matches what you typed in the Omnibox.
Also, if you’re signed into the same Google account on Chrome that you use on any other devices, you can see all your Bookmarks synced from those devices.
I have always wanted long hair but as it is, my hair genes are probably not as good as the skin. My body does not absorb enough nutrients to let it feed the hair and whatever it absorbs seems like being discarded according to the latest analysis by the doctor!! Lately I have had a lot of hair fall so when I heard from Enorgen, I was only happy to oblige them by reviewing their biotin supplements.
I am sure you are already aware of the immense attention biotin has got for its hair restoring capabilities. We also have a recipe for an original and healthy biotin drink if you are into making a smoothie everyday for yourself!! I would highly suggest it as a pre-workout or post-workout drink or as a breakfast supplement. Coming back to the biotin nutritional supplements for women, these tablets claims it may improve hair growth and hair strength.
Contains 10000 mcg Biotin (Vitamin B7) along with 60 mg Calcium Phosphate, dibasic, and 325 mg proprietary blend of Soy Isoflavinoids, Saffron Extract, Brahmi Extract, Nirgundi Extract, Grape Seed Extract & Vitamin C
My Review
The enorgen biotin nutritional supplements for women come in a pack of 60 tablets at a reasonable price of Rs 999. It claims that it may improve hair growth and strength along with strengthening the nails. It may also help improve the complexion and have anti-aging effects on skin.
Enorgen combines the power of Ayurveda with science. So, while creating this biotin nutritional supplement, they came up with a blend of biotin, calcium phosphate, soy isoflavonoids, saffron, brahmi, nirgundi and grapeseed extract to provide an overall nutritional supplement!!
Regarding results, I am not going to comment much on it since it is a nutritional supplement. They are always dicey and so much of the results depends on your lifestyle, complete diet and health conditions. This is also the reason why I am reiterating to get a doctor’s recommendation before taking any nutritional supplement.
If you look at the tablets, the powdered formula is wrapped in gel capsules. It is recommended to take one capsule a day.
Biotin is supposed to nourish your hair, skin, liver and nervous system. It is also one of the important vitamins essential for pregnant ladies. One of the most important natural sources of biotin are eggs, bananas, flax seeds, nuts and nut butters.
It is not easy to get a biotin deficiency but it may not be enough in your system to nourish your hair, skin and nails which is why supplements are recommended. Usually, vitamins are minerals are first used for more functional responsibilities of the body. Cosmetic functions take a backseat.
I did notice my skin is more smoother and firmer but then I do use other skin care products. However, my hair has not seen any significant improvement and I would not blame the supplements for that. My diet and lifestyle are not healthy currently and there are number of factors for my bad hair right from no care at all.

The Lutron Caseta Smart Home Lighting dimmers and switches install in minutes, work with numerous bulb types – including dimmable LEDs and CFLs which bring the convenience of a connected home to your finger tips.
What It Does
This wireless system uses smart switches and remotes to control the lighting in whatever part of the house you desire. Not only does the Lutron Caseta Smart Home Lighting System allow to control more than one circuit at once, but it also allows one to add scenes and additional switches to circuits. The Caseta System also give the option for everything to be on dimmers. In addition, this system replaces all regular toggle switches with new fancy Caseta switches.
Lutron Caseta Remote
The remote that controls all of the Caseta technology can be placed anywhere: mounted to a wall plate, placed on a side table, or anywhere you desire. The Lutron Caseta remote does not require an electrical box which and can be placed anywhere as it is powered by batteries. This remote is supported by a hub connected to your network and has the capability for you to control the dimmer from any location through an app that you can install on your smart phone device.

In the previous video, Handyguys Brian and Paul introduce the Lutron Caseta Smart Home Lighting system. In this video, they delve deeper into the ins and outs of this lighting home automation system, specifically the switches and dimmers.
Handyguys Brian installed the Lutron Caseta Smart Home system in his basement allowing for 4 separate dimmers to be controlled by the Lutron Caseta Smart Home remote. In Handyguy Brian’s case he has 4 dimmers that control separate circuits in his basement. The top button is on, and the bottom button is off. The in between panel allows the user to dim the switch on the selected circuit. In Handyguy Brian’s case, he has a third option that has a button in the middle of the on and off switch. That button can be pre-programmed to automatically dim to a certain percentage. a series of lights next to the dimmer signify when the light is dimming.

I have never been a great fan of sheet masks earlier. Even though they are less messy, I find them inconvenient to use and I do not like the fact that they do not treat the neck and decolletage. Also, they are pretty expensive for just a one time usage. And, then, I came across these mirabelle facial sheet masks on my trip to NewU recently. There was a buy 2 get 1 offer going on so I picked a few.
For now, I have used only berries and rose. Coconut is still lying in my fridge. I like to store my sheet masks in the fridge during summers so they feel pleasantly cool when put on the face. And, I absolutely love these sheet masks. I find them better than other sheet masks I have used previously including the uber popular SKII facial treatment masks.
Mirabelle Facial Sheet Masks – Berries and Rose – Product Review
Price : Rs 129 for one mask
My Review
Let me start with the mirabelle facial sheet mask rose. It smells amazingly of real roses and is extremely soothing on skin. The berries variant is also nice but it has no particular smell attached to it. There is one sheet mask per packet and it has extra serum which you can use the next day for an intense overnight mask effect.
The mirabelle facial sheet masks are little tricky to open as they are really wet with the serum dripping down but they fit extremely well and can cover even larger faces. They will suit men as well. The sheet mask has a lot of serum and easily takes a good 20 minutes to dry up in summers. It will take even longer in winters.
I like to keep the facial sheet mask for a good 20-30 minutes depending on how dry the sheet gets and then I rub the sheet all over my neck, decolletage, hands and arms to use up the serum left on it. Mirabelle facial sheet masks have a lot of serum and are extremely hydrating. Next morning, I just wash my face with water.
The results of the sheet mask is glowing and dewy skin. If you store it in the refrigerator, the skin looks extremely fresh and smooth. It makes the pores look smaller and controls the oil production on the skin for at least the next day. I really loved using the mirabelle sheet masks but yes they are expensive so I am keeping it for special occasions or when I feel like pampering myself.
What are your favorite sheet masks?
Have you used the mirabelle facial sheet masks? Do you like some other brand? What is your favorite? Do recommend your favorite brand in the comments.
In this video, Handyguy Paul asks Handyguy Brian if he thinks that he Lutron Caseta Home Lighting system is worth it. Handyguy Brian explained that initially he was searching for a way to turn off all of the lights in the basement with one switch while also having the option of controlling each circuit separately.
Why Invest In Lutron Caseta
The Lutron Caseta remote that controls the circuits functions wirelessly and is powered by a battery that is supposed to last 10 years. This means that Handyguy Brian put in a battery once and won’t have to worry about it for a good while. In later episodes, The Handyguys will discuss more about this switch in detail.
All in all, after asking the question, “Is a smart home lighting system worth installing?” Handyguy Brian does feel that it is worth it, mainly so that he has one central switch, but also because of the new switches and dimmers that come with this system. Stay tuned for more on the Pico remote, the Lutron Smart Bridge, as well as the Lutron app in later episodes.

This remote allows you to turn a normal circuit into a 3 or 4 way circuit while controlling them all. The major pro of this remote is that it does not require a power source but rather is battery controlled; therefore, this remote can be placed anywhere, next to a couch or in a wall plate bracket. However, you do not need an additional wall box for the remote.
If you choose to mount the remote in a wall plate bracket, you will need the the wall bracket to place it in a switch plate cover and mount right next to the existing switch. You can control the lights outside of the room as the switch has no physical connection but it connected to your lighting through the network in your house wirelessly. This makes the remote powerful because, as previously mentioned, you can put it anywhere.

If you have followed the blog for long, you would already be aware that I love to hoard essential oils and hair products and when both of them come into one as aroma magic stimulate hair oil especially at the price tag of what it is, how could I even resist it. I have been using it on and off since March. Aroma magic has been long known for inexpensive but effective products!
I have used only their mineral scrub and seaweed face mask. I did not really enjoy the scrub but the mask was good for hydration and instant pickups. Not really the stalwart products the reviews had led me to believe but somehow I did not lose hope in the brand. The oil are tempting, especially the aroma magic stimulate hair oil with its blend of essential oils.
Aroma Magic Stimulate Hair Oil Product Review
Price : Rs 375 for 20ml
Aroma Magic Stimulate Hair Oil – My Review
The stimulate oil comes in a pretty blue bottle with a stopper which helps dispense the oil drop by drop. The oil is light, not greasy at all and disappears into the skin or scalp. It has a lavender fragrance which smells soothing and is not strong at all. It claims to stimulate the hair roots and increase circulation to improve hair growth and reduce hair fall.
Contrary to the fact that it says hair oil, aroma magic stimulate is actually a scalp treatment which helps fight any bacterial and fungal infections, moisturizes the scalp, increases blood circulation and helps reduce hair fall. Now, the brand advises you to dilute a few drops of the oil with a table spoon of water and then apply it to the scalp. However, I do not dilute the oil.
It’s completely transparent and colorless!
I take one drop of the oil on each on my finger and massage my entire scalp with it. I have been using this scalp treatment almost since March and I have used the product everyday on the scalp till three weeks back. Once I stopped using it, I realized how much it is really useful to control the hair fall. In fact, it helped with the hair growth as well but is more effective to control the hair fall.
I massage my scalp with aroma magic stimulate oil in the evenings so it gets plenty of time to get absorbed into the scalp. It is not greasy at all and does not make my hair or scalp look greasy even with daily use. For people with oily scalp, you can use this right after your hair wash instead of using it everyday. It also helps control the oil production on the scalp.
It has been a while since I got this aroma magic stimulate hair oil and I have thrown away the outer pack so I do not have its ingredients list. But, it contains rosemary essential oil which is really good for hair growth. The other benefits are that it treats dry scalp, will help treat dandruff, controls itchy scalp, keeps the scalp healthy and helps control hair fall.
Overall, I loved aroma magic stimulate oil and would definitely recommend to all for everyday use. It is also a value for money product. After using it for over a month daily, I still have more than half of the product left. It would easily last for daily use of four to six months since you only have to massage your scalp with it. So, go ahead and try it for sure.
Have you used Aroma magic stimulate oil?
Or, are you a fan of some other scalp treatment? How do you like to treat your scalp? Do you only depend on hot oil treatments? Or, use any scalp cream? I also have one from Kaya but that has expired so I can not review it. Share your secrets with me in the comments section.
